The window brands we repair

We are a repair shop first, so the brand on your windows matters less than whether the frames are sound. In practice we work on everything fitted across central Indiana over the last century: wood sashes from the 1880s with no brand on them at all, clad-wood units from the 1980s and 1990s, and the builder-grade vinyl that went into the suburbs through the 2000s.

Andersen

The brand we see most, and the one we are certified for. Andersen supports its older product lines with replacement parts longer than most manufacturers, which means a fogged pane or a seized operator on a thirty-year-old unit is usually a repair rather than a replacement. Our Andersen window repair page covers what typically fails and what it takes to put right.

Pella, Marvin, Kolbe, Sierra Pacific and JELD-WEN

All repairable, and all worth repairing when the frame is sound. The work is the same shape whoever made the window: replace the failed glass unit, replace the hardware, splice out rot where it has stayed local, and leave the rest of the window in the wall.

Parts availability varies by manufacturer and by how old the unit is. Where an original part is no longer made we will say so, and where a sensible equivalent exists we will fit that instead.

Unbranded and older windows

The oldest windows we work on carry no manufacturer’s mark because they predate the idea. Those are the best jobs on the bench: old-growth timber, joinery cut to be taken apart, and a working life that outlasts anything sold to replace it. Our window restoration page covers that work.

Not sure what you have?

Most people do not know who made their windows, and it does not matter for booking a visit. Someone comes out, identifies the series, and tells you what can be repaired and what cannot. There is no charge for that.
